When operating UV coating equipment, pay attention to the following aspects:
1. Energy: Adjust the intensity of UV energy based on the drying coefficient requirements of the coating. This directly affects your production output.
2. Temperature: Most UV machines generate heat during operation. Maintain temperatures around 50°C (122°F). Excessive heat thins the varnish, while insufficient heat thickens it excessively. Ensure consistent varnish temperature. Cooling and ventilation are essential, as temperature affects gloss, deformation, and the UV machine's lifespan.
3. Matching: Ensure the UV wavelength matches the drying/thinning range of the coating and the UV machine's emission band, e.g., 365/420.
4. UV coatings can irritate skin. While technology has advanced, safety remains paramount. If UV coating accidentally splashes onto skin during operation, immediately wash the affected area with soap to prevent more severe consequences.
5. Process: When spraying UV varnish, IR (infrared) time must be properly set. Insufficient IR leveling will result in poor surface finish even if UV energy requirements are met.
6. During application, avoid direct exposure of UV varnish to ultraviolet light. UV varnish will cure upon contact with UV light, significantly impacting the application process.
