Label Slitter and Cross Cutter
These two machines share similar names and both perform material slitting operations, yet they differ fundamentally. Let me explain each in detail.
Label Slitter
A self-adhesive slitter is a machine that cuts wide rolls of paper, mica tape, or film into multiple narrow strips. It is commonly used in paper manufacturing, electrical cable mica tape production, and printing/packaging machinery. Slitters are primarily employed for cutting mica tape, paper, insulation materials, and film, and are particularly suited for narrow strips (insulation materials, mica tape, film, etc.).
Slitting machines are pre-press and post-press equipment that convert large rolls of paper, film, non-woven fabric, aluminum foil, mica tape, and other thin materials into smaller rolls of varying widths. They are commonly used in paper machinery and printing/packaging machinery. Slitting machines are continuously evolving from single-motor control to dual-motor and triple-motor configurations, achieving greater stability and efficiency at higher operating speeds.
Cross Cutter
Cross cutters belong to carton processing machinery. Within corrugated cardboard production lines, they are the equipment used by operators to trim finished cardboard products. Their technical performance and adjustment status directly impact the precision of finished cardboard dimensions, whether crease lines break, and the smoothness and aesthetics of cut edges.
Cross-cutting machines are suitable for longitudinal and transverse slitting of various paper types, including metallic paper, plain rainbow paper, laser holographic anti-counterfeit paper, white board paper, and various thin papers. They are widely applicable for cross-cutting or longitudinal slitting of labels, cigarette packaging, calendars, wine boxes, playing cards, and paper-plastic composite printing materials.
